"Hi, I’m Not Here to Be Viral"

Once upon a time, I would contour my face into a different time zone, pose on cue with a matcha latte, and edit photos that looked like ads for my eyebrows. I went to the PR events, knew the angles, the filters, the hot brands, the hashtags.

I lived the Influencer Life, until I woke up one day and realized… I was tired of it. And honestly? A little bored.

So. Welcome to this cozy corner of the internet, where I’ve traded the ring lights (3 of them) and brand briefs for slippers and stream-of-consciousness posts. This blog—yes, an actual blog, not a “content drop” or a newsletter disguised as a marketing funnel—is my little rebellion.

It’s where I plan to write like it’s 2006, back when we shared thoughts online because we wanted to, not because an algorithm told us to dance, or pretend we’re constantly discovering “life-changing” skincare.

I've been a professional Marketer for 17 years. 24, if you count the days I was a singer-songwriter trainee in Taiwan. I’m in my 40s now. I’ve got laugh lines, a slower scroll speed, and a personal craving for content that feels human. Not staged, high-gloss, dopamine-hacked, “Top 5 Life Hacks to Be Hotter, Richer, and More Likeable in 90 Seconds” content editor stuff I already need to do in my job.

Here’s what you’ll find on this blog:
  • Unfiltered thoughts over mostly unfiltered photos. (Sometimes that sunset looks good when you tint it.)
  • Daily snippets about small things that spark joy or reflection.
  • Musings on beauty, wellness, creativity, food, and life by someone who isn't 20—without trying to “optimize” it for engagement.
  • Relatable chaos from a woman who has been there, done that, and no longer gives a crap how many people double-tap her salad.
  • Simplicity. No clickbait. No “you won’t believe what happened next.”

I believe it's ok to be a little imperfect, a little honest, and maybe even a little bored sometimes—cos that's where real creativity often starts. Let's return to what blogging was originally meant to be: personal, thoughtful, kind of magical in its simplicity, and not meant to make you feel bad about your own life.

Thanks for stopping by. Let’s see where this goes.

With love and slightly undone hair,
Candice
